JAY MARTINE
Jay Martine is the Building Official for the City of Lake Worth; he is responsible for interpretation and enforcement of state, city and international building codes, city ordinances and inspection of the same.
Jay was born in Elliott, Texas on February 2, 1935. He attended Hearne High School where he finished his senior year in 1953. Jay entered the United States Air Force in August 1957, retired in September 1980. While in the service he was assigned to aircraft electronic, navigation, weapon delivery systems, missile guidance systems, and missile launch crew. Jay also served 3 years of his 26-year in Okinawa and 5 years in the 19th Air Division as the Avionics, Missile, and Munitions Superintendent. Jay attained a B.S. degree in Industry and Technology from Texas A & M University in 1987.
After retirement Jay worked for Tandy Computer Manufacturing as the Quality Assurance Manager and Plant Manager for two computer-manufacturing plants. In 1986 he went to work for General Dynamics as Procurement Quality Engineer, Aircraft Electric, and Avionics Inspector. Jay retired in 1994. After 3 years of retirement he went to work for the City of Saginaw in the building inspection department. In April of 2001 Jay left the City of Saginaw and joined the team at the City of Lake Worth as the Building Official.
Jay is married to Virginia Hawkins Martine formally from Walnut Hill, IL. They also have three daughters, Mary, Roberta, and Teresa all residing in Texas.
