Gene Brooks -
Council member Brooks was elected to the Lake Worth City Council May 1990 and is currently serving as Mayor Pro-Tem. He was born in Kilgore, Texas and was raised in Fort Worth. He and his family have been residents of Lake Worth for the past twenty years. Together with his wife Martha they have two children, a daughter, Crystal in the U.S. Air Force and a son Chase, a junior in high school. Brooks received a BGA degree from Texas Christian University and an MBA degree from the University of Phoenix and is currently pursuing a PhD. from Touro University International in business.
Mr. Brooks has been employed with now Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company for 25 years. He has served on the Economic Development Committee and various other committees since being elected to the city council. Prior to being elected to the city council, Mr. Brooks volunteered as a Lake Worth reserve police officer for over five years. He is active with keeping up with the requirements and needs of Lake Worth in providing for a safe and peaceful community. Council member Brooks platform is "Working to Enrich the Quality of Life in Our Community" by supporting education, developing Hwy 199, making city hall "resident friendly", and developing improved methods to streamline city council functions. He actively seeks community input and his availability to residents is a hallmark of his service to the community.
