Q. Is there a fee for having an inspection?
A. Inspection fees are covered in the price of the permit, however if the inspector has to come out and do multiple inspections, he may access you a re-inspection fee. Re-inspection fees are $50.00 for each offense. Re-inspection fees must be paid prior to any more inspections being performed.
Q. I requested an inspection, how do I know if the inspector has been out to do the inspection yet?
A. The inspector will leave a tag at the inspection location after an inspection has been performed. A red tag will be left if the inspection failed and a list of items that needs to be corrected prior to a re-inspection. A green tag will be left if the inspection passed.
Q. I pulled a permit and I need to get an inspection on the work that I have done. How do I get an inspection?
A. Inspections may be requested through our automated inspection request line. Please call (817) 237-1211 ext. 249. Once it goes to voicemail you will need the following information:

You can also go online to www.mygov.us to request an inspection.
Inspection requests received before 8:00 am will done during the same work day, inspection requests received after 8:00 am will be done the following work day. Some exceptions will be made in emergency situations.
