Q.        If I am a contractor working in the City do I have to be registered?

A.      All contractors must be registered through the city, although not all contractors are required to pay a registration fee. Below is a list of the most common contractors that require registration, along with a description of the required information for completing the registration process.

General Contractors

General contractors must be registered to do work in the City of Lake Worth. They must supply a copy of their driver’s license, certificate of insurance showing the City of Lake Worth as the certificate holder, and a list of personnel authorized to pull permits for the company. The fee of registration is $100.00 and the registration is good for one-year from the date of payment.

Plumbers

Plumbers must be registered to do work in the City of Lake Worth. They must supply a copy of their driver’s license, master plumbing license, certificate of insurance showing the City of Lake Worth as the certificate holder, and a list of personnel authorized to pull permits for the company. There is not a fee for registration or renewal, and we keep it on file for a year.

Electricians

Electricians must be registered to do work in the City of Lake Worth. They must supply a copy of their driver’s license, reciprocating electrical license, certificate of insurance showing the City of Lake Worth as the certificate holder, and a list of personnel authorized to pull permits for the company. The fee to register is $100.00 and the registration is good for one year from the date of payment.
