The City Secretary's office is committed to providing support services to the citizens, City Council Members, and City Staff of the City of Lake Worth in a professional and efficient manner.
The City Secretary’s office handles:
- Public Information Requests (Public Information Act Notice)
- City Elections
- City Council minutes/agendas
- Board applications for various city boards/commissions
- Ordinances and Resolutions
- Proclamations
- Updates/Maintenance to City Website Homepage
- City Code Updates (Note: The City Code is updated annually; therefore, there is a delay from the time the City Council adopts an ordinance which amends one of the city code chapters, until the revisions can be codified and included in the official code of ordinances. - City Contracts and Agreements files
- Records Management Officer for the City
- The City Secretary is the official keeper of the "Seal of the City" and is authorized to affix the seal to appropriate city documents.

The City Secretary's office oversees the Election process. Currently, the City of Lake Worth contracts with the Tarrant County Elections Administrations Office to handle City Elections. For Election results during City Elections, click on the Tarrant County Election link listed below:

MAY 12, 2012 ELECTION INFORMATION:
The City of Lake Worth's General Election this year will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012. The purpose of this election is to allow qualified voters to elect Council Places #1, 3, 5, and 7. These are two (2) year terms. Current Council Members holding these places are:
- Place 1: Curtis McKay
- Place 3: Perry Lunsford
- Place 5: Pat O Hill
- Place 7: Clint Narmore
Beginning in February, candidates may pick up an Election Packet from the City Secretary's office. The first weekday that the City Secretary's office is open to file an application for a place on the ballot is Monday, February 6, 2012. The deadline to file for application for a place on the ballot is by 5:00 pm on Monday, March 5, 2012. (Note deadline time is 5:00 pm and not 6:00 pm.) Check Sections 3.02 and 3.03 of the City Charter for candidate qualifications and eligibility requirements.

The following trainings are required for Mayor/Council and Board/Commission members.
The trainings have been made availabe through the Texas Attorney General's office.
Each training takes about one hour to complete.
