Job Title: Police Captain/Assistant Chief of Police
Compensation: salary range $66,060 - $93,342 annually DOQ; employer paid health, dental, vision, & life insurance; TMRS participation of 6% with a 2/1 match; paid vacation & sick days; 10 paid holidays.
Job Description: The Police Captain provides administrative guidance and control to the City of Lake Worth and the Lake Worth Police Department. Plans, directs, coordinates and supervises all divisions of the Police Department. The Captain holds top-level responsibility for the planning and direction and is the assistant chief administrative officer of the Police Department. Responsibilities extend to supervision, training and assignment of workloads for all members of the Police Department. The Captain assists in deptermining what technical direction and supervision is provided to police officers, telecommunication operators and civilian employees within the police department. The Captain performs tasks on his own initiative and is expected to show the highest level of professional judgement.
Job Requirements: Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements at the time of application:
- Associate's Degree, sixty (60) hours, in the field of Criminal Justice, or an Associates's Degree in an approved law enforcement related field; or, 1800 T.C.O.L.E. approved training hours:
- A graduate of F.B.I.N.A., L.C.C., or G.M.I.;
- Ten (10) years total law enforcement experience;
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a full-time Patrol Sergeant or Patrol Corporal in a patrol shift-supervision capacity;
