Brett McGuire
City Manager

Brett McGuire has served with the City of Lake Worth since 1993; when he first joined the Lake Worth Police Department.  Beginning as a Patrol Officer, he also served as a Seargeant, Lieutenant and Captain prior to being appointed as the Chief of Police in 2003.  He was appointed as the City Manager in November of 2008.

While the majority of his background is in Police Operations, he also has experience in the Fire and EMS Service.  Brett also has extensive background in management in the private-sector.  His area of responsibilities included resource procurement and allocations., budget analysis and revision and contract specifications.

Brett attended Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA, with a focus in Science and Pre-Hospital Medicine.  He is a 2002 graduate of Law Enforcement Institute of Texas Leadership and Command College at Sam Houston State Univerfsity.  He has also been a consultant/instructor at Sam Houston State University's Law Enforcement Management Institute "InCosit" program.

Along with his wife, Gail, and his two children, Brett lives on his small farm located west of Fort Worth.  He enjoys working with animals as well as camping, fishing and other outdoor activities.
