Residents of the City of Lake Worth, Texas are eligible for a free bicycle safety helmet.  Just stop by or call the Lake Worth Fire Department to receive a free safety helmet. We have adult and children sizes.   (while supplies last )

Freewheeling it on bicycles, skateboards, skates and other wheels is part of being a kid. But it can also play a big part in endangering your child's health, or even his or her life. In 1999 over 382,000 children 14 years and under were treated in U.S. emergency departments for bicycle-related injuries.

Wearing a safety helmet can reduce the risk of head injury 85% and reduces the chances of brain injury 90%. It just makes sense to wear a safety helmet while on wheels.
