Chief of Police
Dave Tatsak
Dave Tatsak is currently the Chief of Police for the Lake Worth Police Department. Chief Tatsak is a twenty-four year veteran of the Lake Worth Police Department; beginning his career at Lake Worth in 1985. Chief Tatsak has a well-rounded background which includes over five years in Residential and Industrial Security, retail management and small business management.
Chief Tatsak began his law enforcement career at the Pantego Police Department as a Reserve Officer in 1978. During his tenure at the Lake Worth Police Department, Chief Tatsak has held the below listed assignments:

Because of his diverse background, Chief Tatsak is able to provide unique perspectives for the daily operation/activities of the Department. His experience has proven invaluable when developing and implementing policy/procedural changes, in dealing with community-related programs and employee-based issues.
Chief Tatsak attended Criswell Bible Institute and Tarrant County College. He is a 2005, 50th Class, graduate of Leadership Command College.

I am honored to be entrusted with the responsibility of the position of Chief of Police for the Lake Worth Police Department. Our staff is comprised of many dedicated, knowledgeable and service-oriented individuals. The primary goal and responsibility of our Department is to assure the safety and well-being of our residents, business owners and visitors within the City. We will continually strive for improvement, innovation and effective law enforcement practices; tempered with patience and compassion. Development, positive encouragement and re-enforcement of employee's personal and Departmental goals is a major thrust in my mind. The better equipped, educated and skilled the employee the better the service to our citizens.
I am quite proud of the level of professionalism exhibited by the members of our Department, and the accomplishments that have been made. We are a part of a growing, thriving city and the Department will grow along with it. With the continued support of you the citizens, Mayor/Council and City Staff, I am confident that we will continue to contribute to the prosperity,well-being and safety of our City's greatest resource - its people. These are not just words when you consider that it has been proven, time and again, that no Police Department is stronger than the support and cooperation of its good citizens.
