SPECIAL CHARTER ELECTION
The Lake Worth City Council has called for a City Charter Amendment election scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2019. The May ballot will include ten (10) amendment proposals. The majority of the proposals are language updates. The proposed amendments were recommended by the Charter Review Commission that was appointed by the City Council on March 2018 and convened in May 2018 to review the charter. During its seven month review process the group held regular meetings. The Commission reported its findings and recommendations to the City Council in December 2018. The City Council reviewed the charter proposals in January 2019 and called for a special election at the February 12, 2019 City Council meeting. Copies of the current City Charter and Voter Guide with proposed amendments are available at City Hall, Mary Lou Reddick Public Library and LO. Bud Irby Senior Center for your review.
