Joey Highfill
Joey Highfill is the City Manager with the City of Lake Worth and began his career there in 1999. Prior to accepting his current position, he was Director of Public Works where he managed eight departments comprised of 17 fulltime employees and approximately nine part time seasonal employees.
Prior to joining the City of Lake Worth he was employed by the City of Watauga as Superintendent of Utilities and Parks. Previously he worked for the City of White Settlement as the Superintendent of Utilities. He also was employed at the City of Kennedale as Director of Water and Wastewater for approximately ten years.
He graduated from Boswell High School in Saginaw in 1983 and is a certified peace officer (TCLEOSE) as a reserve for the City of Lake Worth. He attended Tarleton State University and Tarrant County College for approximately two years. He has more than 3600 hours of training in water and wastewater and other continued education credits. In addition he has a grade B water license and class II wastewater license through the State of Texas. Joey is a graduate of the Certified Public Managers Program (2003) provided through the University of Texas
Born in Fort Worth, he has lived in the Saginaw area for more than 36 years. He and his wife Melanie live in Saginaw and have three children. He enjoys hunting and fishing, as well as spending time with his family. He also participates in youth activities and has coached football, baseball, softball and basketball for approximately 17 years.
