Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Street Department to provide citizens, businesses and visitors to the City of Lake Worth with road systems that will insure safe passage.
Vision
This department will become efficient and productive department by reducing the amount of waste and using new techniques. The addition of preventive programs such as crack seal, improved drainage, and concrete replacement will increase the life of existing infrastructure.
The City of Lake Worth is committed to maintaining the safety and usable conditions of our city streets. The Street Department is responsible for traffic signs, pothole repair, base failure repair, concrete restoration and drainage maintenance. They also provide emergency services when the city has severe storms and other natural disasters.

Q. How Can I Get My Street Repaired?
A. For minor repairs such as patching potholes, flooding, cleaning drainage ditches, gutters, inlets, and culverts please contact the Public Works main office at (817) 237-7210.
Q. A utility company (Water Department, TXU Gas, TXU Electric, Cable TV, Southwestern Bell Telephone) has dug a hole in my street. Who is supposed to make repairs?
A. Each utility company is responsible for leaving the cut in a safe condition until the company, or their contractor, can make permanent repairs. See “Where to Obtain Assistance and Report Problems” for utility company numbers.
Call (817) 237-7210 to request more extensive repairs, such as overlay, reconstruction or correction of major drainage problems. Staff will investigate each request and recommend the project for inclusion in the appropriate maintenance per capital improvement program.
Q. Who do I call about getting repairs done or for other problems on a freeway or county road?
A. All Freeways and state highways (e.g., Loop 820, I-30, I-35, I-20: Highways 121, 170, 180, 183, 199, 287, 360, 377, 580) are maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation. For questions or problems regarding county roads, contact the appropriate county precinct. (See state and county numbers to call under “Where to Obtain Assistance and Report Problems.”
Q. While driving through your city my vehicle abstained damage do to road conditions. Who do I contact to make a claim with the city?
A. All claims must go through City Hall located at 3805 Adam Grubb. If your vehicle has abstained damage, for example: from a pothole, you are required to fill out a Claim Form. After you have filled out the appropriate paper work the Insurance company will perform an investigation and determine a disposition. Q. I have a streetlight out on my street or I know where one is out that I would like to be fixed. Who do I tell?
A. You may contact the Permit Clerk at (817) 237-1211 ext. 230 or if you have access to the Internet you may also send a request through the ONCOR web page at http://streetlights.oncorgroup.com/Main/main.aspx. Just click on make a request without logging in, fill in the requested information and the work order will be processed.
