Charbonneau Park, is more commonly known as the “Growing up Strong: Kids and Trees” project. This community project was developed in 2001 by the City of Lake Worth in cooperation with the Northwest Tarrant Chamber of Commerce, the Lake Worth ISD, and more than eighty (80) local businesses and community volunteers.

In addition to planting trees in Charbonneau Park, the project provides mentoring opportunities by community volunteers “adopting” Elementary classes in Lake Worth ISD. “Kids and Trees” participants have assisted students by planting and assisting in the identification of trees and flowers, nature projects, and environmental education activities.
