Building Development Services consist of the following sub-departments:

Permitting and Inspections

Permitting and Inspections is responsible for permitting building construction and conducting inspections to ensure life safety and compliance with codes and regulations. This page contains information regarding the plan review, permitting, and inspections process.

A permit is required for any construction, change in use or occupancy, alteration, and/or repair of any structure, building or building system including plumbing, electrical, mechanical and irrigation systems. If you have a question please contact us at 817-255-7920 and we will be happy to assist.

To obtain a permit first submit an application, required fees (applications and fee schedules can be located here) and supporting documentation that is of sufficient clarity to indicate the location, nature and extent of the work proposed and show in detail that it will conform to the provisions of the adopted codes and ordinances. The permit application will be approved and a permit issued when all provisions of the adopted codes and ordinances are met.
