Mental Health Officer Courase

Alongside Northwest Tarrant Crisis Intervention Team, the Lake Worth Police Department is hosting a Mental Health Officer course at the Lake Worth Multi-Purpose building (7005 Charbonneau) from Monday, February 19 – Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 8am – 4:30pm.
To register, please have your training coordinator email Sgt. Brian Benningfield at bbenningfield@lakeworthtx.org. The class is limited to 25 students, and spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
There are no prerequisites to attend the course itself, but to be eligible for the TCOLE proficiency certificate, officers must have the following:
- 2 years of experience as a Peace officer or Jailer
- Must have taken De-escalation (TCOLE 1849) AND Crisis Intervention Training (TCOLE 1850) OR Mental Health for Jailers (TCOLE 4900).
- Proof of CPR/ First Aid training is also required, but it will be offered by LWFD during the course.
