In keeping with our department's mission, the detectives of the Lake Worth Police Department work around the clock to investigate and solve crimes that occurs in the City of Lake Worth. Like their partners elsewhere in the department, our detectives are never satisfied with the status quo. That is why they boast a violent crime solve rate (93%) that is three times the national average, and a property crime solve rate (68%) that is twice the national average. Overall in 2020, our detectives helped reduce overall crime in Lake Worth by 11%. That included a 16% reduction in thefts, a 68% decrease in burglaries, and a 20% reduction in overall property crime.
